About this event

Please join the IES while we kick off our 2022-2023 season with a fall pitch & putt golf tournament this September 15th! Dragon's Head is a par 3 golf course designed for golfers of all levels, beginner to expert. This event is an opportunity for social networking, where we can all enjoy a fun night out with friends and colleagues.

Come support our local IES section while we socialize and kick off another great season!

Who Should Attend?

The tournament is open to anyone in the local electrical industry who is interested in a fun networking event, regardless of IES membership. Engineers, architects, designers, electrical wholesalers, electrical contractors, lighting agents, and anyone else interested are encouraged to help support the event. Please keep in mind that Dragon’s Head is an easy course for all levels of golfers, even those who have never golfed before.

Schedule

• 4:00 PM – Registration

• 4:30 PM – Shotgun start time

• 7:30 PM – All golfers should be finishing their rounds

• 8:00 PM – Raffle draw and wrap up

Details

We will gather just outside the main doors of the clubhouse for registration. Once registered, please ensure you and your team make your way to your assigned starting hole no later than 4:20 PM for the 4:30 PM shotgun start time.

• Four (4) people per team. You may register individually, or purchase multiple tickets as a team.

• The round of golf takes approximately 3 hours to complete, and will be the Four-Player Best Ball format.

• This is a rain or shine event, therefore please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather. As there is no dress code for this golf course, casual wear is acceptable.

Food & Drinks

The event ticket includes:

  • One round of golf

  • One beverage (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)

  • One food item (your choice of hotdog or burger, selected at time of ticket purchase)

Additional hotdogs, burgers, and drinks will be available at the clubhouse. Please feel free to get your food item and drink when you are near the club house before the game starts, or during.

There is a debit/credit point-of-sale machine at the clubhouse, but there is no ATM on site, so please bring cash should you wish to purchase any drinks on the course, between Holes 4 and 11.

Please send us a message if you have any dietary restrictions so that we may accommodate.

What to Bring

• Golf clubs may be rented at the clubhouse should you not have your own set.

• Sunscreen and bug spray, both of which may be purchased at the clubhouse.

• Masks are not mandatory, but feel free to wear one if you feel more comfortable doing so!

• Your “A” game and a friendly competitive spirit!

FAQs

Can I use my IES membership for a discount?

No membership discount for this event. General Admission only.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Free parking is available at the Dragon’s Head Golf Course. There is no public transport to the golf course, but taxis may be called after the event for safe transport home.

What's the refund policy?

Refunds can be arranged up to 30 days prior to the event by emailing the organizer with your request.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, but please check in during registrations when you arrive.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

No. Once the ticket is purchased and the golfer(s) are registered the ticket must remain with the person who purchased the ticket.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No. Please ensure the ticket is matched to the person registering at the event. In the case of multiple tickets purchased for pre-arranged team members, please register as a team at the registration table on the day of the event.

COVID-19 Caution

At the time of the event creation, masks are not mandatory for outdoor golfing events, as per AHS recommendations. However, if this changes, we will be sure to update the event in advance. Feel free to wear a mask if you feel more comfortable doing so!

Please do not attend if you have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or shortness of breath, have travelled outside of Canada within the last 14 days, or are a close contact of a person who has tested positive for COVID-19.

If you feel any flu-like symptoms prior to the event, please let us know, and stay home. Your ticket will be refunded in full.
