The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) places great emphasis on lighting education in fulfilling its mission to advance the art, science and practice of illumination. Our goal is to provide agile and accessible educational opportunities through modern learning modalities as well as in person seminars and courses and allowing the vast knowledge of our members be shared with our membership at large.
Check our Events page for local education courses as they are announced.

IES DG-29-11, developed by IES in association with the Lighting Controls Association, describes the technical requirements for commissioning lighting and control systems to achieve owner performance criteria in new construction. Retro-commissioning, or application of the Commissioning Process to an existing facility that has not previously been commissioned, is not specifically addressed in this guide, although the same basic process can be applied.
