LEDs have made controlling conditions in botanical studies both easier and more consistent. But how can we be certain that our “blue” or “red” light is truly “blue” or “red” enough without knowing the exact SPD of the light sources used?
Blue Light Issues in a Nutshell
Recently the American Medical Association published a position paper on the effects of LED lighting on humans. There has been much back and forth over the issue since this paper was written. In order to clarify the issues in a concise way this paper will attempt to abbreviate the topic and list in bullet format the central points being made on each side.
